NEWFEST — The Ever Changing Logo (Rebranding)

NewFest needed an identity that could reflect the range, energy, and evolution of queer film in New York. Rooted in the boldness and grit of NYC, the rebrand draws from the pride flag as a symbol of visibility, solidarity, and inclusion. Its stripes became the foundation of a flexible logo system, woven directly into the wordmark as a subtle but powerful cue.
Instead of being one fixed logo, the identity was built as an ever changing umbrella mark. The bars shift and adapt to different films, voices, and expressions within queer culture, while still always feeling recognizably NewFest.
The result is a living identity that feels rooted in New York and true to the community it represents. Bold, inclusive, and made to keep evolving.
